The key is to have consistency in the layout, design and fonts combined with a thought provoking headline that works well with the title that makes you want to click it.

Here's the thing.

When I looked at Marie Forleo's new thumbnails and noticed she as well as others were changing theirs, I decided to do the same thing. 

​

You know what? 

​

I realized I was making a change based on what SOMEONE else was doing for their channel - not what was best for MY channel.

 

Having a different thumbnail was driving me crazy to see how INconsistent the thumbnail image was amongst my other videos. Not TOO different but enough. 

​

It quickly made me realize that I need to stick to what's working. My views, watch time and subscribers continue to go up - slowly but to be expected. 

 

The point is I'm headed in the right direction with what I've been doing - so why mess with what's working, right?  

​

The same is true for your marketing strategy. If it's working, keep moving forward. If it's not, it's time to revisit, update or pivot. 

​

An outside perspective is worth it's weight in gold. That's where the AHA moments come from. You're just too close to your business.
