Episode 77:  Repurposing Content

What IS repurposing marketing content? And why is it important enough to care? How should this play a part in your marketing strategy and content strategy?

In this episode I review the details about content repurposing as well as share examples on how you can get started repurposing your own content (even if you just started a business and only have a website!). 

For example, using this podcast episode I could create a blog post instead of, or in addition to, the show notes. In doing so, I would create sections like:

  • What is repurposing content?

  • Why should you repurpose content?

  • How do I repurpose content?

  • What content formats work for repurposing?

  • What are examples of repurposing content?

  • Can I repurpose a podcast into other forms of content?

 

Each section can now become a snippet of content you create and post on other platforms with a CTA and link that directs people back to the full post where you have a separate CTA to tag you on a social media platform, for example.

Also, with every piece of original content you publish, share and/or create, you should ask yourself these 3 questions as you create it (with intent to repurpose):

  1. What else can we do with this content? There are many things! Listen to the episode to hear more.

  2. How can we use this piece of content to connect with people beyond the original format?

  3. What CTA (call-to-action) should we include to continue the conversation, i.e. email, subscribe, comment, beyond this original piece of content?
