As with any marketing strategy, it's important to know and understand with podcasts as well whether 1) it makes sense for your business and 2) your target audience will listen to it.

If you decide to incorporate a podcast into your marketing strategy, know who will be responsible for creating it, the format listeners can expect, the frequency you will publish and what the take aways or call-to-action will be.

Make sure you conduct research in your industry to see what already exists and what type of content is being shared. The last thing you want to be is a 'me too' podcast. Researching your competition and industry will help you determine your content strategy as well.

I review what you should consider before pressing 'record' plus steps you can take to set your podcast up for success.
